Bury St Edmunds opened their East Anglian Premier League season at home to champions Sudbury. The visitors batted first on a very good track, thanks to a great deal of time and effort from Bobby, Mark Flack and the team of volunteers. Ex-Bury players Tom Huggins and Adam Mansfield opened and survived a few early appeals; but batted well butting on 105 for the first wicket. Tom Huggins went on to score 105, Mansfield 35 and Darren Batch 45 in a total of 302 for 5. George Lloyd took 2 wickets, with James McKinney and Josh Cantrell bowling well without success.

After a session in the hot sun the Bury batting never got going, dismissed for a disappointing 64 - Tom Curran scoring 16 and Alfie Marston 19; not a great start but we battle on.

The 2nd team travelled to Mistley who were restricted to 118, Javed bowling very well at the start, with only 19 runs coming from his 15 overs with good support from the two seamers Billy Riddick and Charlie Cook. Ben Whittaker, 3 for 39, and Vivek, 1 for 36, also bowled well and our fielding was excellent with Whittaker and Vivek both being involved in Run Outs. Dylan Day batted very well for Mistley with an unbeaten 78. Our batting did let Bury down; all out for 107.

On Sunday the 1st team were at home to Acton and batted first scoring 245 for 9 with a top score of 65 from Max Whittaker, was supported by Charlie Ruffle (39), George Lloyd (40) and James McKinney (41). S .Fisher took 3 for 44 for Acton.

7 overs after tea with Acton on 30 without loss the heavens opened as a thunder storm arrived which put pay to the match.

The Sunday 2nd team travelled to Tuddenham, batted first and were in a lot of trouble at 30 for 4, but there was a century partnership between Ellis Edwards (41) and Sam Aldous (98*) and Bury finished with 189. The fielding and bowling was somewhat indifferent and Tuddenham batted very well to win the game with A Jakeman (94*) and Rob Pettitt (48). A good game, and a big thank you to Tuddenham for getting such a good pitch ready.
