The dust settles on a very busy season the final day has been reported earlier.
Saturday September 13th was the Presentation Night for the senior section, on the night 19 individual trophies were presented to players who had scored a century or taken 5 wickets in an innings.
A Players Player Award was received on behalf of each team and other awards included the Clubman and woman of season given to John and Rosie Nunn for their outstanding contribution over many years.
Pride of place must go to the 2nd team who finished runners up in the Two Counties League Division Two and earned promotion to Division One where they will play against Halstead, Woolpit, Hadleigh, Worlington and Maldon next season. It is a big step up for the club having teams in the top two leagues in the area.
a remarkable 10 centuries were scored by seven different players during the course of the season.
We need to recruit players of all abilities for next season so please encourage anyone you know to make contact, this is particularly true for the Saturday 3rd team and Sunday team. On Sundays we need more players to take part it is an enjoyable league with less pressure.
On Friday September 19th we held the Junior Presentation Evening with many young players receiving awards for some outstanding performances.
