At the Victory Ground Bury St Edmunds rain commenced as play was about to start and despite every attempt only 14 deliveries were possible. Home captain Josh Cantrell had won the toss elected to field and it was on the final delivery of the day that Tom Rash had Luke Froggatt caught by Will Routledge for one run with the score on 7.1. Rain prevented any games being completed.
This leaves two weeks remaining in the EAPL and it has never been closer with Sawston and Babraham tied with Horsford on 394 points and Copdock on 392. The league fixtures could not have been better selected as next Saturday Copdock are at home to Sawston while Horsford host Bury St Edmunds and the week after Sawston host Horsford while Copdock travel to north Norfolk to play Ashmanhaugh.

In Two Counties Division One Bury travelled with a strong team to play already relegated Mistley but only 6 overs were possible as Bury scored 34.0 off 6 overs.
Woolpit remain top with 356 Halstead second on 337 after the match between the top two was rained off. In fact all games were lost to the rain.
On Saturday it is possible Woolpit could clinch the championship as they play Coggeshall who will need to play a lot better than their recent trip to Bury St Edmunds 2nds where they were well beaten. Halstead visit 3rd placed Worlington (303 points) and a win for the home team could hand the title to Woolpit.
It could be two or three teams relegated depending on which club replaces Frinton in the EAPL. Mistley (128) are already relegated above them Bury St Edmunds (185) Clacton (187) and Maldon (189) Bury St Edmunds batted for 6 overs and were 38.0. away to Mistley.
Next week Mistley host Maldon. Bury St Edmunds play at home to Mildenhall’s 2nd team while Clacton are at home to Wivenhoe. The final week sees Bury St Edmunds visit Maldon.

Bury’s 3rd team scored 24.1 after 7 overs away to Ipswich 2nds before rain stopped play for the day.
Bury’s 4th team managed an hours play at home to Bardwell’s 2nd team Bardwell reached 57.6 with Edward Miller 26 not out 3 wickets for Imogen Grove for just 8 runs and a wicket each for Oscar Gove, Jack Lee and Kush Patel.
This is only the second Saturday in 20 weeks where the weather has prevented play.
