The weather put pay to the East Anglian Premier League fixtures with the exception of Downham Stow winning against Sudbury.
Bury St Edmunds won the toss and elected to bat away to Horsford despite losing Justin Bishop early to Callum Metcalf for 13 it was a good batting performance with Will Routledge scoring 48 and William Jarman 47, Harry Gallian contributed 25 and Sean Park was not out 29 when rain caused the match to be abandoned with the score on 188.6 with 15 overs still to go. Cameron Graveling taking 3 wickets for the home team.
The 2nd team lost the toss at home to Sudbury’s 2nd team and were asked to bat on a very good surface, James Sturgeon was out for 14 and Archie Jones for 20, Max Whittaker made a brisk 20 but it was opener Zyan Imam would formed the basis of the innings scoring 72 off 99 deliveries being out when trying to force the score along, Alan Barker made a very good 65 not out with Josh Owen run out for 22 The total of 247.6 off 45 overs certainly looked defendable however just 9 deliveries of the Sudbury innings was possible as drizzle made the outfield very slippery and after due consideration both captains agreed to call it a day, Bury at least obtained maximum batting points.
On the adjacent pitch Stowupland scored 266.5 with Byron Hearsum scoring 95 not out and Dan Marsh 59. Krishna Sinha taking 3.60 and Yann Johnson 2.47. Despite the drizzle both teams were keen to see a result Bury scoring 125 thanks to Simon Aldous with 35 Krishna 19,Haydn Smith 16 and Eve Aldous 13 Ollie Miller talking 4.20 a wicket each for brothers Joe and Dan Marsh.
Burys 4th team came a distant 2nd to Mildenhall’s 5th team playing at Horringer Bury were all out for just 48.

Next Saturday is the final round of the 120 overs format as Bury St Edmunds play Great Witchingham in the Thurlow Nunn EAPL.
The 2nd team are away to Felixstowe, 3rd team away to Kesgrave 2nds and 4th team at home to Stow upland’s 2nd team.
On Sunday the team travel to Castle Hedingham.
