3 wins on Saturday and promotion for the super blues!

Saturday was a good day all round with Ipswich winning promotion to the Premier League and Bury St Edmunds three teams all winning, unfortunately no 4th team game as the opponents could not field a team.
At the Victory Ground in the Thurlow Nunn East Anglian Premier League home captain Josh Cantrell won the toss and elected to field which proved a good choice as visitors Witham were soon 2 wickets down for just 4 runs. Tom Rash taking the two wickets, Luke Georgeson caught and bowled second ball and Oliver Riddick taking the catch to dismiss Jake Wakelin for 3. Mark Smith had Chris Huntington caught by Rash for 24. Former Norwich City player Cody McDonald was out for 1 caught Sean Park off Cantrell and at 47.4 the match was very much in favour of the home team this became 53.5 as Leroy Facey was bowled by Alex Cruickshank and soon 62.6 as Ben Whittaker took the wicket of Michael Godwin (23) caught by Alex Maynard. There followed a useful stand of 50 runs broken by Jack Howlands excellent run out of Ben Tinham (28). Kaan Hawes batted well before Rash bowled him for 25 a further wicket for Smith and a final run out by Rash saw Witham dismissed for 123.
The Bury reply was steady the early wicket of Maynard out caught Wakelin bowled Christopher Garrod for 7 and Will Routledge out for 10 but Nikethan Radhakrishan (65) batted very well adding the 80 runs needed with Cantrell (32) both were not out taking the score to 124.2 and a second win in three games.
Bury’s 2nd team travelled to Felixstowe the home side were put into bat by James Sturgeon and were all out for 110. Opener Ben Hopkins top scored with 26 before being bowled by Rufus Easdale making a welcome return to the team. Guy Melzer (18) was one of Zyan Imam’s 4 wickets his figures being 4.25 off 7 overs. Jacob Meredith taking 2.21 and James McKinney 2.14. Bury did not have it all there own way and lost 7 wickets reaching the target Alan Barker top scored with 34, Josh Owen giving good support with 24 and 17 each Sturgeon and Max Whittaker.
Bury’s 3rd team won well at home to West Mersea the visitors scored 123 with Krishan Sinha taking 4 wickets with a spell of excellent controlled bowling. Bury reached the target with just 1 wicket down. Sam Harrison making 58 and Guy Shalev 55 not out.
The 4th team game away to Tuddenham’s 2nd team was cancelled by the home team
On Sunday Tuddenham were in action against Bury’s 2nd team a high scoring encounter Tuddenham making 227.6 in their 40 overs thanks to Ben Cross 102 not out and Michael Ives 45. A.Saidur taking 3.42 Krishnan Sinha 1.42 and Zac Bastani 2.40.
Bury in reply scored 203.7 Henry Baldock top scored with an excellent 79 Janak Raj 36, Eve Aldous 18 and Simon Aldous 32 not out.
Bury’s 1st team game away to Castle Hedingham was cancelled due to a wet ground.

Next week on Saturday the 1st team are away to Ashmanhaugh The 2nd team are at home to East Bergholt, 3rd team away to Felixstowe’s 2nd team and 4th team at home to Mildenhall’s 5th team.
On Sunday the 2nd team are away to Bardwell.
