I have just been advised by our chairman Paul Whittaker that you cannot enter the Victory Ground from the normal route from the hospital direction the only way is by travelling down the A143 from the rugby club round about and turning off at the Nowton/Hawstead turning and then turn right at Nowton Village Hall and travel past Nowton Park before reaching the ground. This is a very narrow road so please take care.
Paul said the signage is pretty well non-existent, but the road is fully closed between the school and sports hall and entry and exit is only available from the Nowton direction.
South Lee School were assured there would only be minimal disturbance and entry to the ground would be available at all times this maybe the case but it involves a 3 mile diversion down the A143 and entry via Nowton. My previous post was based upon the advice given to the school.
I will keep you posted and place what I can on the website and advise Halstead and Woolpit regarding Saturday, I believe there is an under 17 game Thursday evening so please could all captains advise players through their respective chat groups.
We will try to avoid a nightmare getting worse.
