As you may have already seen from the signage on the roads surrounding the Victory Ground, there is a planned road closure in place for 3rd August 2026, lasting three weeks.

The council are putting in place new traffic calming measures and footway improvements to the area directly outside the front of South Lee School to improve safety for local residents and children when trying to cross the road.

The road closure is planned to be manned 24hrs a day and we have been assured that they will be able to let visitors to the ground through this closure almost all of the time. There may be small windows when the road will need to be fully closed but they will try to do this at times outside of peak times.

This work will help the long term safety of vehicles and people entering the ground as hopefully traffic speeds will be reduced.
